Last week I went to see Throwing Muses twice. Once at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne where I saw Kristin Hersh in 2007 and then the next day, flew up to Sydney to see them perform again at the Sydney Festival. I also managed to catch Kristin Hersh perform her Parodoxical Undressing solo show. So yeah, I am a massive nerd, but it was well worth it and a great weekend.

Edit: I also enjoyed the whole Sydney experience a great deal more than I have done the past two times that I went up there. The main reason for this being the fact that I had my iPhone with me the whole time. I was able to plan my time and make my way around the city a lot more effectively with the help of the inbuilt gps and google maps.

For example, I hadn’t checked out the harbour and opera house until this weekend just past, due to not knowing where it was in relation to where I was staying and not planning enough. With the iPhone, all I had to do was to search for the address, switch to directions mode and then follow the instructions. I realise I could do this with any phone with gps, so I am not being too much of an iPhone fanboy, but it is very interesting to me how the addition of one gadget can turn a city I have not enjoyed in the past, into a whole new, much nicer experience.

Three things:

1. I had my wisdom teeth out. It hurts.
   Pro tip: Don’t go out drinking the night before.
2. I have now been in Australia for two years.
   I want to stay here for at least another 2…
   
3. I have really, really big plans for something.

Back to real life in Melbourne for the time being now.

Anyway, I’m kinda over them now, but couldn’t help but harass a few with my camera the other night after Devo, as I hadn’t ever caught one on film… or memory card.
